Been watching this project with great interest - just tried it on my PortaPup 5.2.5 USB stick install and it looks pretty good to me! I'm not at home right now so can't mess around with hardware so much right now. It seems to have left a problem with my install of Pwidgets - they are still there but...

mikeybaby72, How did you do the save file upgrade? Be specific what you did. I click on PPM and I just get a yellow text spash that is far too quick to read and then...nothing? In the console Type ppm Hit enter. What errors do you see? Help! I have important data in my savefile, so can't just kill ...

Update from Slacko 5.3.1
I tried the live cd and love this release, but when I upgraded the savefile on my Acer 5315 from 5.3.1 to 5.3.3 and manually installed the rest of the files for HDD (frugal) - upon 2nd reboot PPM had died? I click on PPM and I just get a yellow text spash that is far too quick to read and then...not...

Cisco PT
Well I can get a .rpm.bin file, but puppy will not open it without me specifying a command. I can log onto cisco.netacad since I have cisco classes right now. I also have a netacad login and would love to be able to run PT in my Puppies. Please let me know how you get on with this as it's one of th...

Imo, selling puppy is a bad idea. If he's selling them on DVD's or USB sticks, then I could understand 5 dollars or something, but 50 dollars? Wow. I mean, he may have removed most traces of Puppy, but I have no doubt that you could still find tons of puppy-related things in the filesystem. Does it...

Some Advice Needed... ...
Could anyone suggest the best Puppy/Puplet for a friend of mine who has re-built a Sony Viao laptop? It has a P3 CPU with only 64MB of RAM. He is a current window$ XP user and has no knowledge of Linux. I was sure that there would be a Puppy for him, any help would be greatly welcome. Thanks, in adv...

Puppy 3.0
Hi! I'm not a total newbie - been walking the dog since 2007! I learnt IT whilst 'away from home' and gained 12 certificates in IT highest then was Cisco CCNA. I 'came home' and was given a ten year old HP Business machine - HP Vectra VE7i - 466Mhz CPU (Celeron) and only 128 MB RAM. It came with Win...

Well, that was an interesting read. I shall miss puppy studio 3.3, no - I shall miss 3.4, which we may never see. Unless, someone else picks up the ball. Ah well. Here here - I too will miss 3.4 and was mourning it's loss to the community also. Sadly I'm not yet a dev, so I can't take over the bato...

Firewall in Puppy
Hello all, I (also) have done 'Shields up' checks in my multitude of Pups BOTH in and out of my local LAN. I don't use the Firewall when at home (mainly as I see no need for it) but when connecting to www from an 'outside source' - ie not within the confines of my home/office/any other "person'...
