Change ra0 to WLAN0

#1 Post by divisionmd »

Hello,

- I have Puppy Linux Precise Puppy here.

- And when testing it on a Zotac Nano AD-12 Plus - Puppy did not detect the WLAN card.

The wlan card is a: RALINK (a new model...)

So downloaded and installed drivers:

http://rricketts.com/installing-ralink- ... ntu-12-04/

http://rricketts.com/wp-content/uploads ... .6.0.0.zip

and card now works fine - but the name of the card is "ra0" not "wlan0" why is that?

and how do i change so it has the name wlan0 instead?

Google around on this - and most guides i followed does not match the files found on puppy linux.

So thankful if someone know where and in what file i need to modify do make this change?

Thanks for help,

Best regards,
Johan

Ralink devices are named ra* -some other cards also use 'alternate' names. Any wireless configuration scripts need to take this into account, but some don't.
