Precise Puppy 5.5 Release Candidate
Latest Version 5.4.95
It's working great on my hardware except for sound. With all required items at full volume in Retrovol and the speaker icon at full volume, there is still no sound. Attached is sys info report.
Jejy69's fine KDE4.10 works great as will as 01micko's get_libreoffice-027.pet. Also Bibletime and Xiphos programs are working fine.
Thanks,
Jim

Afraid you've been missing a lot of discussion, most probably that contained on BK's blog. With such fast moving development in this kennel, one has to read the lot. My problem is I tend to forget it after a week or so and cannot find it again!

If you hold your mouse in the position shown below (and perhaps click and move slightly, maybe with a task open) you will likely be able to crash jwm. However the 701 developer snapshot now fixes this. This is in precise 5.5RC and other versions of puppy also.

I'm continuing to run precise puppy 5.5RC.
Everything so far is running great. All my installs in PPM using ubuntu reps are working great.
Fonts look great even running wine.
Everything looks good and easy on my eyes.
I haven't tried installing nvidia 96.43.23 yet. I have to try that next. Even if that doesn't work, I like this puppy.
Thank you!

I'm new to using linux distros and i really want to use puppy, so i installed precise puppy 5.5 on a cd yesterday and when it started, my screen resolution didn't fit my monitor ( i suppose this can be fixed with nvidia drivers? i use a gtx 670 ) and also, my keyboard (razor anansi) wouldn't work. i tried setting the keyboard to usb in one of the settings but it didn't work. can someone help me?

Diarthorosis,
I can't tell you about video drivers, that's out of my league, but you can go to menu>set-up>Quick set up first run settings and in the video section, it gives you an opportunity to run the video wizard. If that doesn't work, In my experience, changing the refresh(?) rate has solved the problem. My apologies if you have already ran this without any luck. Maybe someone with more experience can help you if this doesn't work.
