PCMCIA Globetrotter EDGE modem

#1 Post by pupnewbie »

Could someone PRETTY PLEASE help me out with enabling my PCMCIA network card (modem) to work? My LAN cable eth0 works great, but this is my friend's laptop who only has PCMCIA access to the internet. I have searched every possible topic and I cannot find a solution. Here's what I did so far:

I have tried connecting via Connect on the desktop: nothing.
Setup, the same result. I've tried loading new modules, Windows drivers (although I don't know WHICH inf file to choose, maybe that's the reason? the modem's drivers have like about 50 different inf files)

I installed pcmciautils, but I don't know how to open it?

Why is it so difficult to set up the most basic thing as internet access on Puppy? I would be GREATFUL for any help you will be willing to provide, or at least some guidelines.... Thank you in advance.

Puppy version is 5.1 Lucid
