Official Request for a Puppy Logo

#1 Post by hondasid »

I am requesting that someone in the kennel put out an official Puppy Linux logo that will be here to stay in some sort of fashion. Microsoft has always had the four color waving flag and it has evolved through the years, as has the Apple logo. I know Linux has Tux, but Puppy really stands out from any other Linux distro.

The reason behind this is so that I may brand myself (tattoo) with this logo to show my dedication to this community and operating system. I already have Tux on my chest, and would really like there to be a puppy loo fit in somewhere too.

So there it is. Barry, Warren, Rob, everybody! I need a logo to show that Puppy is here to stay!
Instead of looking out Windows, I'm playing with my Puppy.

?
There is a logo. I don't personally like it, but it came out of a relatively recent thread with a whole lot of different logos and a vote on some of them.
By far the best logo is the old "puppy paw" logo that you used to be able to see everywhere.

Maybe I need to search more. Sorry, it's 12:30 in the morning where I am and have been working on Puppy since 9 o'clock this morning. I'm a little tired.

I like the Puppy Paw, as well as the little puppy face that you see on a lot of Warren's themes, but I haven't seen or heard anything about an official logo. If there is one, I would like to see it and make sure that it is logo, we're not going to have another vote in 2 years, after I'm branded, and I have an outdated tattoo. Not cool.

So that's the logo? I can do that. The blue will look really cool. I think I'll get it on my left side, right under my BBQ ribs.

I work loading Puppy on old ass hardware and make it run fast for about 12 hours a day, along with the constant promotion of the OS, as well as maintaining my website and uploading more free software for others to download. I want this tattoo to show how much I love this OS, this community, everything about it. It's like a family, we fight, bicker, and swear, but in the end, we put the BS aside and focus oin the important stuff. That's why I'm a Puppian till They pry the P1 from my cold dead hands.

Hi, I would go with either the menu button dog or the image below, The latest logo that Lobster posted is nice, but you never know how long it will be around, unlike the other 2, I talked about

ps if you go with the mini-dog I could make it larger for you, if need be.

Decision made

#8 Post by hondasid »

Ok, so I apparently misspelled whatever my search terms were last night or I was very tired, because today I found a lot. The winner is below. I'm going to have this tattooed on my chest. The only difference is that the tattoo will have no shading or shiny spots, as per the theme of the rest of my tattoos, i.e. very cartoony. I'll post a pic when I get it done. It'll be a little bit, but it's the next one on the list.

I've actually decided to have it done on my left side, just below my tattoo of my ribcage BBQ'd.

You're just as dedicated as we are Rob. I just happen to like tattoo's.

Does is need to be the official logo? The official logo mustn't be that prominent, or you would've known about it :)
Personally I wouldn't be surprised if the logo was to change again, so if I was doing something permanent like you are I'd use something timeless, like the Puppy Paw logo or the Puppy with Tulip logo Ttuuxxx posted (I actually think it looks best, but the paw was a better logo as it could be made much smaller and still look good).

:D Hello,
The Tat was pixelated, meaning it was compressed at a different ratio than the BG pic, meaning it was "Gimped" in...(Did I use that nasty P.S. word before?)....oops.
