Hello.
Last weeks, the "public link" from the Dropbox web site stopped working in my linuxes. Tried different browsers, different puppy versions, even "in RAM", no way, it seems some change in the dropbox web site, but I have no way to get a public link. The pop-up link doesn't show anymore.
I'd like to have the interactive desktop menu as I have in OSX or Windows systems. It's quite frustrating to have to power ON a windows machine every time I need a public link to share a file.
Is that possible?
I was cosidering to replace dropbox with another service, but didn't find any yet.
Dropbox right-click menu in ROX?? Anyone?
I just quickly googled it.
I don't know if any verions of puppy use nautilus but alternatively there are some Xfce versions of puppylinux.

edit Looks like xfce is available in tahrpup. Go to:
menu -> setup -> quickpet tahr
Select desktops
select sfce.
I haven't tried it. Let me know how it works
edit2There also seems to be a dropbox context menu plugin for the KDE desktop (link). There are several versions of puppy linux which supports KDE. If you want something that supports it out of the box then maybe try KDE Puppy.

http://www.dropboxwiki.com/dropbox-addo ... ar-dropboxThunar Dropbox is a plugin for Thunar (on Xfce) that adds context-menu items from Dropbox. Find out more at http://www.softwarebakery.com/maato/thunar-dropbox.html
http://askubuntu.com/questions/277931/d ... nager-xfceThis solution works for me:
Install nautilus-dropbox (yes, it uses Nautilus, but we will integrate it in Thunar at step 4)
sudo apt-get install nautilus-dropbox
Start Dropbox daemon:
~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd
Add Dropbox to start-up:
Settings Manager > Session and Startup > Applications Autostart > Add
under "Name", enter "Dropbox"
under "Command", enter "/home/USERNAME/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd"
Install the Dropbox Thunar extension: 32bit, 64bit or source

Thanks for your answer.
Actually I wanted to add the feature to my actual distro, I think reinstalling a distribution to add a dropbox feature is too complicated, I prefer to leave my machine alone, I've already spent too much time tweaking it.
X.fce is quite light, I'll check some live puppy with x.fce and give it a try.
KDE definitely won't run on my hardware (it will, but too slow)
In the meantime, seems that dropbox has fixed the "public link" issue on the web site. I'm using that by now, but it's not as easy as a contextual menu.
