Anxiously waiting this release......have an empty partition waiting.

I install your Streamtuner/alsaplayer pet in every new Puppy install, got to have my tunes, but it's up to you if you want to keep the size down.Takes about 2 minutes to install otherwise so no problem either way.

In 2.14x I actually have Streamtuner/Beep combo going....works good too. I have so many test installs its hard to keep track of what is installed where.

Use your best judgement, just try to keep it fairly small.

Great job again. :)

Thats a special small version of gtkhash I made, it was like 30kbpet compared to over 130kb for the full version with SHA-512, It was compiled with all other hash functions disabled, If you want the full version than you can get it at.

ttuuxxx,

there is no

Code: Select all

fc-list
command, JWM-Theme maker is crippled without it (and it is standard in 430, 421, etc)

ok most of those things are done, other than
cursor themes <-- really up to the user to pick and choose.
- Remove buggy / redundant apps like Zfind <--- zfind is less buggy than pfind, well less resources :)

also added Pcrypt and left gcrypt because pcrypt is a alternative frontend to bcrypt, It has to be installed for pcrypt to function.

brushed metal one is already in the menu, its under 'metal'

Ttuuxxx, two small things: in all 4.2 series Puppies, hitting the power-off button on my laptop brings about a controlled shutdown, not in 4.3? (or 4.1)
In EVERY puppy I ever tried the 'wifi active' light comes on on my laptop, but not in 4.3. Just flashes briefly as it logs on to the network.
Also I am occ getting this previously unseen Seamonkey error

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=46753

Any clues?

LOL dave you picked 3 things I have no clue about, I don't use laptops, and well Never seen that seamonkey screen before, Looks like a permissions problem or it could of been just a buggy build of Seamonkey, which could happen.
Power button I think you might have to do this

Installing a 42 MB (!!!) cursor pack only to find that the extremely small classic cursor theme is not there. is that what you call choice (or user -friendly?) :)

We need at least one light (white) and one dark (black) theme by default.

ttuuxxx,

appreciating your latest Puppy very much. Some small issues I have
- .ra Real audio files not associated, although Aqualung can play them
- .odt dito, although Abiword can open them
- one .doc MS Word file I have would show only the first line of text,
maybe a font problem (Times New Roman)?
- Menu > Desktop > Pcur cursor selector won't offer any themes

And please add Streamtuner, best 500 KB investment there is.

Thanks!

JR

PS: XArchive is complaining about missing dependencies. Hadn't it
been replaced in 4.2 already?
And last not least, is it possibly to bring Yahtzee back?

Just tried ttuuxxx's 431.

Nice job with Firefox - very nice

There is an issue with X somewhere though. Normally I have to use MU's ATI-Catalyst pet in order to get my Radeon 3450 card to work properly.

Last week MU provided an ATI-catalyst that worked fine with k2.6.30.5 as used with Barry's latest 430 issued yesterday.

Doesn't work with ttuuxxx's 431 though - so I wonder what has changed.

In the meantime I reverted to Barry's version and installed ttuxxx's Firefox/SimpleMail/Flash pet package V3.5.2.

This needed a couple of libraries installing and then worked OK.

So I've more or less got the same stuff running as is in 431 (minus a few upgraded icons)

Would be interesting to find out what has borked the ATI-Catalyst pet here.

Hi Guys streamtuner is now added, I would like to tweak-it, when you open a stream it opens a new window with it loaded, but then you have to hit play, open 10 streams and have 10 aqualung windows, hmmm I'll try to stop that. And it should autoplay.
It streamtuner only adds a small bit maybe 150kb compressed or less.
ttuuxxx
ps I'll add more links for files file types.

Simple tronkel I changed X-server to a older model that has more addons, Basically its a 100% improvement for Firefox scrollbar speed, there is no lag at all. But with the default puppy you'll have some, plus flash 10 is faster and more stable with it.
go here tronkel https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... rt:popular
and move your scrollbar up and down real quick, hmmm you might not have that issue because you have MU's ATI-Catalyst pet installed, I guess we'll find out :)

Looks like you've managed to break the CPU freq. scaling tool, ttuuxxx :D
All I get is the app window that does nothing, no matter what I click or enter in.. (pic attached below)

Since there is a report in the "bugs" section of problems with cpu frequency scaling in the official 430 release, not sure if it can be blamed on Ttuuxxx. :)

He'll probably fix it anyway.............
