So working with the fluxbox, I have been able to figure quite a few things out. So far I've got: transparent menus, configed drop down menus that are layed out like I like, some great wallpapers and the key shortcuts how I like them. I'm still wondering about transparency in Rox, and the ability to move from one screen to another by just dragging the cursor thru the side of the screen, like on FVWM. I love the clean look of Fluxbox.

That I don't know and may need someone like yourself to figure it out for us...rox is not the usual filemanager used with fluxbox, ya know?

Trapster: got any advice for us?

Any other fluxbox'ers?

What is the usual filesystem with Fluxbox?

Reading the Rox site faq, transparency isn't an option with the rox 2.xx series. They say it's extremely buggy and slow with transparency.

Nothing yet about the movement between screens.

Another thing I'm working on is customizing the look of rox. It's eye jaring to go from the smooth looks of fluxbox to the bold cartoon look of rox. There are a few people out there who have done it but it's not as popular as I thought it would be. Ttuuxxx and MU have it down from this post
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 9f6d2ac9a2 but it's still confusing to me. I need a few more hours. Ultimately I'd like to have it look like this

I use Rox with fluxbox. I also have used Thunar and Muppy-Filer but keep returning to Rox.
Don't forget firefox, seamonkey, mc and lynx (among many others) will browse directories also.

You can click and drag windows to different virtual desktops with flux.

If you package up your /root/.gtkrc-2.0 <--- file and the icons you want to use in a tar.gz, I could make a pet for you to install, but I need those 2 things first.

...sorry, that's not totally what I meant: Puppy is the only distro that I know that uses rox...now, i usually use rox 'cause I'm a fan, I just meant that I had never even heard of rox till I came to puppy, so other fluxbox distro's don't use it that I know of...thunar is one that I end up seeing the most outside of puppy....

...but it looks like ttuuxxx and trapster got you hooked up...

You're a giver. :D

I grabbed the pet you made to change the rox toolbar icons and it worked fine. I also can just replace some icons in a copy of that pet and make that work. If you have anything like the two links I posted I'll buy them from you. Rox seems like the poor step child that doesn't get changed.

Trapster I'm talking about the ability to move the mouse to the right side of workspace 1 and come in on the left side of workspace 2. FVWM does that and I got hooked on it as I don't have more than one screen.

For further Rox talk I've started another thread in the >users. Any suggestions or new cool .PETs ( :D )could go there to keep all the resources in one place.

My puplet "ROX-BOX" uses a simialir config to yours Steve, but puppypinboard enabled no icons in the fluxmenu. The ability to drag the workspaces can be turned on or off. Its called "workspace warping". Right click desktop > fluxbox menu>configure>workspace warping! I dont know why flux comes with it turned off by default, I always thought it was cool, and it does spoil you. The transparency though......I dont know . I dont think flux can pull that off. Possibly psuedo-transparency like rxvt...but thats a BIG maybe.

The first rox icon theme you posted was a old alienware theme for xp that came out about 3yrs ago, Thats probably why it was removed from rox homepage, I must of downloaded about 400MB worth of alienware theme packs to ripoff the icons, below is what the full theme used to look like, I like that forum also, its called "ipforum" it automatically resizing screen-shots which is way cool. :) Would like to see this forum have that option. anyways I'll spend another hr or so and see if I can find the icons :)

Thanks. You're right. Fluxbox just looks so clean and sleek. No cartoons, nothing like its rivals. Just a unique efficient machine. I came across another theme that I like a lot. Here it is.
