Dear Wolf Pup,

Version 1.1.23 works like a charm on my Samsung NC10 netbook running 4.10. I will now test it on my desktop running 3.01. Thanks.

With kind regards,
vovchik

I'm getting the following message when trying to reach the repository:

"The bandwidth for the month of June 2009 has been exceeded.

My apologies to all the users.

We will be back in July 2009"

Could anyone publish wine-1.1.23.pet temporarily somewhere else?

Thanks in advance!

Dear puppians,

I just downloaded Wine 1.1.24 from a Slackware repository
http://repository.slacky.eu/slackware-1 ... ne/1.1.24/
and can report that it works. Simply open a terminal and type:

Code: Select all

tgz2pet wine-1.1.24-i486-1ms.tgz
This will create an installable wine 1.1.24 pet. Later click on this pet to install. Immediately therafter (once the installation completes), run winecfg to update your system. Ignore the missing libs notification, since Wine will run fine. Unlike the puppy version, there is no Jack support, so if you are not impatient, wait for Wolf Pup's version.

With kind regards,
vovchik

The .pet package made from the slackware module above is (proudly) hosted on Ecomoney Systems Ltd worldwide mirror here

http://www.ecomoney.eu/puppy/pets/inter ... 86-1ms.pet

to get the Windows version of firefox working (available here) I needed to install technosaurus winetricks here and install ole and ole32 libraries...which I think were included in WolfPups .pet . The download is hosted on the forum so is still available, and enables a geat many other programs to be installed easily (such as WMP9 and Internet Explorer). I believe WineTricks was a google summer of code project so thats another reason they didnt make Bills xmas card list.

Any feedback running Firefox in wine greatly appreciated, as I needed to use it still for certain websites that have started to "not work" with linux clients (such as O2 UK mobiles to change my ten free numbers). The flashplayer I have found on some machines to be a lot more smooth for watching online TV. Some sites still block Linux clients entirely from these too (The B.B.C. got taken to court for it and now it does work!).

http://puppylinux.ca/members/T/486_pet/ ... 4-i486.pet

(the soft dependencies are in the same directory - you only need to install them if your particular wine app requires them: esound, jack, gnutls and ldap - use petget to get xorg_dri for GL support)

the sfs on .ca doesn't have all of the dependencies, but if you can wait until July 1 the sfs on .asia does (mainly to support ChoicePup)

BTW: I intentionally don't include any non-free licensed products, but provide the latest winetricks for those who have a valid license and choose to use it.
Check out my github repositories. I may eventually get around to updating my blogspot.

After installing :http://www.ecomoney.eu/puppy/pets/inter ... 86-1ms.pet

Install was to a Puppy 4.2.1 full install.

And installing I get the following errors. Missing libraries?

winseed.drv lib.so.0 missing.
glu32.dll libGLU.so.1 missing.
wldap32.dll lidldap_r-2.3.so.0 missing.

Additionally the Pet package manager won't remove it
It gets as far as checking OK then returns you back
to the same menu?

Any ideas???

Thanks

That's great that 1.1.27 is out.

Puppy Pet installer won't let me remove 1.1.24?

When you select wine to uninstall it gets as far as
checking OK then returns you back to the same menu?

If Pet installer can't/won't remove it is there a manual
way to uninstall it? And, then how do you get it off the
Pet installer menu?

Any ideas???
