How to use HP Photosmart 5520 scanner?

I noticed this right away. I'm a heavy scanner user (publisher). Surprised that no one else commented on this except an article in the Puppy Linux Forum run by puppyite.at Puppy Linux Forum › Support Category › Hardware Forum
[SOLVED] TahrPup Xsane HP C3150

I have used this scanner for many years without a problem with several other Puppies. The message is alays "no devices available." The reason that I ask is that I am not sure there is a real fix as described in the artcle referred to. In other words I still haven't got my scanner working. Anyone? Thanks

Sorry that I have made a poor choice of topic naming as well as placement.

This is a scanning bug in Tahr Pup 6 and should be in an appropriate place. If I can't scan I can't get my work done. If it's OK wiith the moderator I will direct this to the appropriare place. I got no respons here.
