tahrpup 6.0 - video thumbnails in ROX

#1 Post by tomaka_wanabe »

Hi evryone.. a newbie on and off pup user here.

1st.. is this the right place to post?

2nd.. i've been jumping from one pup to another slacko, macpup, tahr and guessed i wanna try and stay with tahr 6.0. I am more a graphical user than a coder.. so i kinda like with seeing picture while going thru my files, images and videos. problem is ive been strugglin for days to get the video thumbnails to work... how should i go about it?

where I am: Frugal installed tahrpup 6.0 on 4gig pendrive.
what ive tried: installed pet for thumbnail-mp4.pet or so and installed the rox-lib.206.pet and also python install.py..

but.. no video thumbnails as yet..
thank you in advance.

hi tomaka_wanabe,

open the PPM and type zeroinstall into the find box, and install it and all its dependencies.

you will also need to install mplayer or mplayer2
you said you already have roxlib2

now try the video thumbnail option in rox it should hope fully now work (right click in an open window, choose options then thumbnails)

Thank you so much Mr Phil.. I did like u asked... downloaded both mplayer 2and zero install injector. Worked like a charm. It only adds about 14megs...
Why was this not done in all of the puppies?

My case is solved for the vids thumbs. how about pdfs then? should i open a new thread? or continue from here?
