My Puppy is more gorgeous than yours!
Went back to X-Slacko. I'm now running X-Slacko 2.1. While I love GNOME/MATE dearly, there are a few things I like about X-Slacko that I just can't get anywhere else...
Got a Dell 17" 1280x1024 LCD monitor @ the local thrift shop for US$5 (i.e. monitor free with purchase of VGA and power cords, lol), brought it home and it rocks! FINALLY I am no longer limited to 1024x768 screen resolution...
XFCE 4.10.1, built into X-Slacko 2.1.
Rezlooks-Human XFCE theme (built-in)
Custom bottom-tray color
Custom clock color
"Sneaky Fox" wallpaper (attached)
The usual Noir Crystal icon theme
Looks good to me! What do you folks think?

I'm always tinkering with my pinboard. Here is my last one. Until now, I'm pretty happy with it.

Digging the Numix Theme Suite:
Breakdown:
Puppy Iconset: Numix
GTK Theme: Numix
XFCE Theme/Notification: Included in Numix GTK Theme
Launchy Theme: Dash
Wallpaper: Name Of The Doctor
Fonts: Gochi Hand (Included in Carolina and Open Sans
Finally, I'm really proud of the notification tray... finally uniform colors! Only thing I need to do is import the Frisbee 01Micko put together with the SVG icons and then the tray will be complete! Yeah I know, detail freak.
I couldn't find the Saluki/Carolina source for freememapplet_tray so I used sc0ttman's one instead with a tweak to change the right click menu to be more like Carolina and increase the Pupsave size. The icons are taken from Numix (obviously). It's here if anyone wants it: Numix Freememapplet_tray

Hello, Moat!Moat wrote:Really cool - I like it! A modern, simple, fresh take on a desktop layout. What panel/taskbar is that?Cirrael wrote:I'm always tinkering with my pinboard. Here is my last one. Until now, I'm pretty happy with it.
Bob
I'm glad that you like it.
Using Tint2 panel/taskbar, openbox wm and ROX filer. I'm trying to code a script to install that pinboard in other puppy machines... Or in my own machine, if something go wrong. If the script work, I really don't know if it will work, I will post it here too.
About how to install Tint2, I think that is a good idea to click the link:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=64572
I follow those instructions and, in my case, I only could make the Tint2 taskbar work with Openbox.
Well, thanks for you comment. I'll be honored if I can help you in any way.

Save file is in Windows XP. Runs off of Live cd that is pulled after booting up.
Works good.
Bikers used to using only Windows , Ewww and Ahhhh on how it works.
It is a playtoy for customers. I have back up saves in case they screw th pooch.
In case you want to run this way.
The way this works. You pop in the Puppy CD.
If you have not connected or made a save file after connecting. You do it now.
You are propmted to make the save file when you pick reboot or shutdown for the 1st time.
That way the save file remembers your connection status.
Make the save file 512 MB or bigger.
Reboot with CD again.
It finds your save file in XP.
It finishes booting to Desktop.
You can pull the cd now.
You are running in ram.
Any bookmarkss, software installs, home page settings, emails, all get saved in that save file you made and saved in XP.
I named mine harry1st.
