Which order SHOULD PETs/SFSs be added to Puppy?
Puppy packages are available from either/both of two(2) spots on the Puppy desktop: "install" icon AND from "quickpet" icon.
Which should I use as a first?
Thanks in advance
@playdayz
P.S. If you shoot yourself, can I have your computer before the revenuers get it?
And, if you want a recommendation on what kind of shot to use (don't use bird shot), try Tennessee Moon. It much better than Kentucky Gentleman in my opinion. Holiday Spirits... you know.

Just tried installing a new Frugal of Lupu 516 on the main FAT32 partition on the K6. Still can't create a working lupusave. This is a serious problem. Will report back tomorrow.
Zhaan - AMD K6 2 500, 512MB RAM, ATI Rage 128 VR. Full install Wary 5.5 HardInfo Report
Merlin - Core i5-4590, 8GB RAM, Radeon R9 270X. Slacko 5.7.0
Merlin - Core i5-4590, 8GB RAM, Radeon R9 270X. Slacko 5.7.0
Updated a frugal and a full installation of lupu-515. New installation with KDE trinity. All three working good, even Gnome-mplayer which has given me problems since luci-243.
Kudos and Merry Christmas,
Jim

In 5.15 there was a button in Quickpet to get the Devx. Now it is no longer there.
Not that I need it, just wondering..

Quickpet will now show you if more than one version is available. PPM has *all* the pets, but Quickpet has the one-click SFS's. Tough choice.
Shows up here....Bert wrote:In 5.15 there was a button in Quickpet to get the Devx. Now it is no longer there.

Lupu-516 Beta 2 released DEC 22
The wired network, sound, and screen resolution all good on first boot.
I did a frugal install of 516 and used grub4dos.
I got the devx the new way and already had the kernel sources sfs on
the hard disk along with the newest nvidia driver for my card.
I installed the nvidia driver.
I think it's good that the files that are needed to install the latest nvidia
or ati drivers are easily available to the user if they want to use them.
I changed my desktop a bit

test lupu 516
Test Lupu516.
CD-Live : it autobooted fine but had the wrong Time...
Reboot ... pupsave (ext3) same thing. So I used Psinc Time.
sound is good (tray-icon of volume: OK )
Gimp: OK
Video is good. Perhaps glxgears is slower (-10% ). Nvidia 260.19.12
Thanks.

Yes, I know, because it was there in 5.15. The funny thing is I sent a screenprint of it, to someone who was missing it in 5.15Jim1911 wrote:Looks like a nice wide button labeled GCC on your copy.Bert wrote:In 5.15 there was a button in Quickpet to get the Devx. Now it is no longer there.

Install Puppy any way you like and you will get the button, it won't show when running pfix=ram (PUPMODE=5 )
It will disappear once you have installed the devx too,,
Cheers

Thanks for your report.
Installing PupClockset-1.2 (in Lupu-516 Beta 2) works well in my system, and I can't seem to duplicate the problem you now have. When you have time, could you do a fresh boot of the Lupu iso, then install PupClockset-1.2.
At this point, please run fbpanel refresh as the first step. Then launch PupClockset and change the clock format. If the fbpanel clock disappears, open /root/.config/fbpanel/default in geany. Please let me know if the file is empty.
Thanks
Because of firewallstate we know if the firewall is on, but is it working?
I have used the Gibson Research Company Shield's Up over the years.

I got a perfect Stealth score but my router is blocking everything so I couldn't say that it would be representative. I would be curious to know though.
