Follow this guide: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 666#468666
I'm sorry about this. I'm just new to Puppy and I just followed the instructions that appeared. I will try to do what the guide says. Thank you for your help.
Fair enough.. Any problems, post them here, someone will be able to help!

@ tattoopete84
Just so you know, there's an "edit" feature for amending posts.

Is it possible to add GParted to PA9, with a pet installer?

Now that PA9 has been out for a while now, would it possible to download the PET/SFS packages used in the ISO image?

Why? I'd like to trim down the size of a HDD install. That'd mean re-installing the app, so it could be removed from the package manager.

Yes, use the Puppy Package Manager or see the links earlier in this thread..

The standard puppy packages used in PA9 (plus others, like gparted-0.4.5-staticgtkmm-2-p4.pet) can be downloaded from:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... ackages-4/

And the rest, emulation specific stuff, can be found here: http://ppm.scottjarvis.com

Puppy Arcade rules

#84 Post by cafedurst »

Hi there all,

great work sc0ttman, i am very exalted.
PA9 resides now on a 2 GB bootable Partition on an USB-Stick and uses an internal 149 GB SATA drive as storage built in an acer 5611. And i got the wlan with wpa2 working. (praise pwireless2, my advice: don't use other network mangers with pwireless2, they do not cooperate very well) . With one 1 GB Ram it outruns my windows 7 with 4 GB. After setting up only three favourite emulation environments and the devx_420.sfs, i will give samba a try before finally endulging in RetroGaming. I just love it. The puppy serves me already as a secure surf station for ebay and other personalized sites. The best part: I take it around on my stick, and the laptop lies unaccessible, when i am not home. If i decide to install a Windows again, fine, nothing is messed up by booting into PA9. Enourmous flexibility. Again thank you.

You're welcome... Glad you like it! Always brings a smile to my face :D

True, Pwireless does not play well with the other network tools, but it's essential if you use lots of Wifi setups with Puppy.

MAMEPGUI Odd Behavior

#86 Post by adsflkjasdf »

Two things:
  1. Whenever I open certain, large MAME Roms, it returns some sort of memory error that I do not get when I open the same Rom inside of GXMAME.
  2. I noticed that when I start MAMEPGUI, it opens a fullscreen window. I can select a game.

When I exit and sometimes even in the middle of a game , another fullscreen window appears overtop of that one. I press escape to close that one, and another will take its place.

Finally, if I press escape one more time, everything will close (unless i'm actively playing a game, in which case that stays open, but is kicked out of full screen), including what appears to be an application window for MAMEPGUI that I can hardly interact with.

I generally stick to GxMAME, as both SDLMAME and MAMEPGUI are not perfect...
