try moving the .sfs file to /mnt/home then re-run the boot manager.

when I downloaded the .sfs file I put it at the /mnt/home path. After that I configured the Puppy Boot Configuration to load the sfs-file together with two other sfs-files at bootup. The sfs-file is still in the /mnt/home since I downloaded it.
Thank yu for reading and I hope yu will have annother suggestion to fix the prob. I have

that might be a problem, http://www.puppylinux.com/blog/?viewDetailed=00420, seems puppy has trouble loading more than 2 sfs files at once in 4.1. Upgrading to 4.1.2 should fix that.

Hi all,
First: Thanks for the JDK (& netbeans). For the life of me I could not find a version that I could install - all I really wanted was the JDK & javac so I could do a few test compiles.
Now even though I have puppy 4.1.2, my Boot Manager kept telling me that there were no sfs files in /mnt/home.
For others who may have this issue, I found an alternate method (in another post) to install an sfs file which worked for me - someone else can explain why it works and whether or not it's safe
Here are the steps I used:
- drop the sfs file in your /mnt/home directory
- open your ROX Filer & move to the directory with your sfs file
- select the sfs file to mount it -> a folder will open
- in the white space of that folder, right click -> Window -> Terminal here
- enter the following 2 unix commands
# cp -a --remove-destination ./* /mnt/home
# sync
- close the terminal
- in the original ROX Filer window select the sfs file again to unmount it (this will close the windows with the sfs file contents)
--------------
This worked for me. I did need to update my $PATH variable to find the newly added javac command.
Thanks again,
LongTooth.

No checksum using md5sum |
|
Hi Wolf Pup
I downloaded the sfs-file and made as usually a md5sum check. But this time I got an empty output. (no checksum). Maybe you can give me a help what I did wrong. I tried a random other file to look if md5sum works. It works! Only the sfs-file gives me no checksum.
Btw: For downloading the file you need a Authorization (username and password) where the username is 'puppy' and the password is 'linux' without the quotationmarks.

I have some packages, if you still need/want them.
Netbeans 7.0.1
Reports seem to indicate JDK 1.7 has serious bugs in it, but I don't know what they entail. In any case, I have that package but also have kept a 1.6u26 package available just in case.
JDK 1.7 and JDK 1.6u26
