synce on puppy 4?

#1 Post by robermann79 »

Hi all people
I'm new to this forum :)! Coming to serious questions: is there a way to install synce on puppy 4? I'm aware of this post:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 75&t=17440

But, besides it is related to puppy 2, the link to http://www.detroitmusicawards.com/puppy ... bi_214.sfs
does not work anymore!

Ciao
Roberto

I found it on his package located
http://www.detroitmusicawards.com/puppylinux/
it was a tar.gz file
so I extracted it and made a pet for you
here it is, tell me how it goes. If it doesn't work I'll compile it on 4.0

Hi ttuuxxx! Thank you, it works; here the steps followed:

1. installed your pet
2. mknod /dev/ttyUSB0 c 188 0
3. I had to comment the line "usepeerdns" in /etc/ppp/options
4. synce-serial-config ttyUSB0
5. modprobe ipaq
6. with an existing user "roberto" (not root) run "dccm" command
7. connect the PocketPC
8. with root, run synce-serial-start
9. now the connection is established; with the previous user "roberto" I'm able to run pls, pstatus, pmkdir etc
10. when done, as root run synce-serial-abort to close the connection

BTW do you know any graphical interface to the PocketPC file system in puppy pets? If I recall correctly, there is a Konqueror "rapip:/" extension.

Ciao
