Hi All,
labbe5 mentioned jami over a year ago in the Security Section. http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 96#1016596. But I stumbled upon a post by Mike Walsh indicating he had built a version for Xenialpup64. It provided a link to the jami website, https://jami.net/. So I figured with everybody and his grandparents using zoom and questions about zoom's security being raised, perhaps an alternative might be useful.
FYI, after downloading the deb from the above site, ListDynamicDependencies showed only about 6 missing. All were available via Puppy Package Manager. The jami icon referred to by /usr/share/applications/jami-gnome.desktop was an svg buried someplace and didn't show up on the menu. So I opened it in gimp, created a png and dropped it into /usr/share/pixmaps, editing the 'desktop' file.
I've uploaded a version for bionicpup64 here, https://www.mediafire.com/folder/l219c4ni331ir/ together with its md5sum. When started via a terminal it generates the errors of the attached text file --remove the false "gz". I don't know if they are meaningful as I can't test whether jami actually functions.
Feel free to advise of any actual problem. Or better yet, fix it.
