How to sort directory contents according to file extension?

#1 Post by slackfan »

looking for event. answer in my parallel discussion concerning rox, I have a next question as I see that rox doesn't supply such a sort method, see please picture.

interesting is for me the file extension. see red or blue point on the picture.

the left column (red point) is only fictive in rox (I suppose it is the analyse of the file extension (blue point).

but as it is not a real column, it is not possible to search according to the file extension, a fast way, in this case, to find all the files with the extension *.iso for example.

is that possible using rox (for ex. from commando line)?

To select: Right-click anywhere in rox window>choose select by name>supply file extension in input box at bottom of rox window. To sort by name: Right-click>Display>Sort by Name. To save the settings: Click "Save the current settings" in Display. You can also right-click in rox window and go to options to set the behaviour there.
