This is not Bionicpup64 8.0.
It is your version of Puppy.
You need to rename it to what ever you want to, but it does need to be different than Bionicpup64 8.0!!
Need to use a name not already used by another version of Puppy.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

I downloaded it, burned it to a DVD-R (using burniso2cd), booted the DVD in my Dell 5570 laptop, did some configuring, then saved a session to the DVD. I haven't booted it again, so I can't say if the changes were truly saved. My experience with multisession Puppies of all kinds over the years is that the changes will be incorporated when it reboots. The real test will be if it can save more than just one session in the laptop.
How about "SonicBorg"plinej wrote:You're right, though I did say modified so hopefully no one thinks it is an official release.
Since Bionic is related to cyborg and your edits seem to be geared to audio related stuff.

Thx alot for your Bionicpup flavour
I found it better for me to install in the last case when I had to put Linux on a pretty old (Intel Atom 2x1.6 Mhz) computer. I wished Chrome was there.
One point: its BIOS does not support UEFI and your .iso dd-ed on usb stick did not want to boot. I had to copy manually all the stuff and install grub like this from Ubuntu:
Terminal button on a Desktop runs ldd instead... Chrome downloads to /spot/Download so I had to move .pet filez to /root/Download before clicking on them...
..but this is rather fun journey.
Background image is gorgeous as well as boot menu )
I've just added some apps to make it abit better as well as found your pet's collection is excellent. BTW why so many JWM and etc. pets? Do you polish your distro to make it perfect? )
thx alot for your job,
me

I just keep adding to the collection of pets every time I re-compile. I was testing out my scripts that download the latest from github and compile. Just download the one with the newest date.
As far as where chrome downloads, it is because it is run as spot. You can easily change where you want to download to in the advanced settings but you may have to change permissions on your chosen directory for a non-root user.
I will check in to your other remarks the next time I build a puppy. Thanks for the feedback.

I've been using this Bionicpup for a while and I've run across a peculiar problem. It first cropped up in Firefox, but has now occurred in SeaMonkey as well.
The problem is this: the audio in YouTube videos works at first, but after I've played YouTube videos for a few days the audio no longer works in new videos, but continues to work in videos I've paused for as long as several days before resuming them (after the audio stopped working in new videos.) When a YouTube video I've paused, then resumed playing reaches the end, if I replay it, the audio no longer works.
I haven't changed any settings. This just seems to happen on its own. When it happened in Firefox, I downloaded SeaMonkey and the audio worked for several days but then it stopped working in SeaMonkey too.
Nothing seems to be muted, either in YouTube, Firefox (or SeaMonkey) or Puppy. Restarting the graphical server doesn't fix it.
Any suggestions?
