snap2-4.27-20200320 uploaded
I uploaded snap2-4.27-20200320 to add the scrollable "steps" and the .desktop file. Details are here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=1053182#1053182 I think the "$choice" and localized date issues are about the same thing: the identification of the backup archiv...

snap2-4.27-beta-20200320 Uploaded
The corrections for the latest issues have been uploaded, as snap2-4.27-beta-20200319. In the hope that this beta is essentially ready for final release, I cleaned up a few messages in snap2engine to leave out the translation of a long string of variables specifying a path (similar to what was done ...

Snap2-4.27-20200317 uploaded
All of the reported issues with snap2 have been addressed, except for the excessive height of the window. The "4 steps" should probably be moved into a separate dialog or a tooltip. I tested the various operations that I could. Get the new version here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/vie...

Re: snap2
XXXenglish just adds 'XXX' before each message decompress and copy to: /usr/share/locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/ (This feature could be added to MoManager if anybody would like it) Brilliant! Thank you. But I need to use XXXenglish on the snap2 version I am testing. Could you provide or send me the tool so...

Thank you, JJ, for your feedback. I have corrected the two message errors you reported. The 'Help' pop-up led me to discover that almost all tests of user responses were not internationalized, so no actions would be detected. I think I have corrected them all, but cannot yet verify the activities. I...

snap2-4.27 candidate uploaded
I send you the french .po and .mo files of snap2 on which you worked. They seem to work. Thank you very much for your work. Thank you for trying my version of snap2 and sending me your translations. Snap2 internationalization fix?
Lutz (L18L in the forum) has been running into problems with a German translation of Snap2. He cannot get it to work. It seems that although Snap2 was gettexted, it hasn't actually been tested. In case L18L wants to continue translation of snap2, I have edited two of its scripts to substitute eval_...

Snap2 internationalized and released!
Lutz (L18L in the forum) has been running into problems with a German translation of Snap2. He cannot get it to work. It seems that although Snap2 was gettexted, it hasn't actually been tested. EDIT 3/26/2020: Get the released new version of internationalized snap2 here: http://www.murga-linux.com/...

Testing EasyOS 2.1.9.1 on SanDisk Ultra USB3.0, with wired ethernet connection. 1. Xerrs.log repeatedly appends: /usr/local/pup_event/netchg: script entered [Appears to be a debug leftover.] 2. Although xerrs.log contains: Playing Sparc Audio '/usr/share/audio/2barks.au' : Mu-Law, Rate 8000 Hz, Mono...

javaif updated to 20191009
Puppyt, Sorry to be so slow in responding to your report. I did not not expect to see much feedback. I have been fixing the code for debian-repo versions of icedtea and openjdk, which I have now uploaded to this thread. The reason you are having problems with the AdoptOpenJDK packages is that they a...

Java Interface for Open-source Java Dev Kit & Runtime Envmt.
Now that Oracle has changed the packaging and licensing rules for Java, the open-source OpenJDK (& JRE) becomes essential for use in Puppy (and any Linux). Oracle licensing prohibits free redistribution of its proprietary versions. Java versions after 8 support only 64-bit architectures; version...
