It was announced as version 2.0.

Please wait a little. It will take about 40 min from now.
Great, thanks :)

Where will I find it?

Thanks

In my last post I said I was recreating it from scratch. Still a couple of bugs, but version 2.1 will include the latest ArdourVST compiled from source, IceWM as the default desktop manager (customized), and hopefully working firewire (editing modules.conf, see above). Unfortunately I missed the &q...

It seems like the available ISO is "corrupted" (far too small).

Any news about when a proper ISO will be available?

Any other site where some version could be downloaded from?

Kind Regards

Hi Helander and ttuuxxx, I am also interested in Jack2... BUT I am more interested in HOW you are able to run Jack and Puppy. Is there some magical RT kernel for puppy? I can run Jack but I get massive XRuns and cant run in realtime since nothing I am using is build for realtime. Thanks Brian The p...

I was able to solve the problem. It turned out that Jack2 needs to have a tmpfs mounted at /dev/shm. Most other distros seems to provide that default but not Puppy. I just added "mount -t tmpfs devshm /dev/shm" to my rc.local and that fixed the problem.

Problem with Jack2 on Puppy

The Jack Audio Connection kit now exists in a version with a completely new implementation called Jack2 (also called jackdmp). I have built the latest version from the sources on my Puppy 4.1.1 system and the build/install goes without problems. When I run the program it terminates with a Bus Error....

/usr/local/lib in LD_LIBRARY_PATH

When building packages from sources these packages default configuration is typically such that binaries are installed to /usr/local/bin and libraries to /usr/local/lib. The environment provided in Puppy shells include /usr/local/bin in the execution path (PATH) while the /usr/local/lib is not inclu...

Sounds great. What version of Puppy are you using? What actions, if any, have you taken to configure realtime behavior? Have you rebuilt the these apps from fairly new sources or are you using the PUP:s (or was it PET:s) created ages ago? I have built the new Jack (Jack2, jackdmp, jackmp whatever it...

Re: DAW possibility for Puppy

What do you mean with: "the newest kernel for Puppy, it supports the real time mode when using Jack" ? You could specify the RT option to jack running on any kernel and if you are using qjackctl it shows the RT indicator even if the kernel do not support RT. Building an RT kernel for Puppy...

A few questions about oss4: - I checked the OSS site and found 3 types of binary packages; deb, rpm and tar. Did you use the tar package? - Did you have to do any pre or post install actions, e.g. uninstall or disable ALSA? How did you install wine and wineasio, from Slackware packages or are there ...

Did you build these packages from sources, converted them from some other distro or just found the pet:s ready made somewhere? Since Barry provides a devx SFS for the kernel version in question could not that be used to to build the kernel we would want? I have not been building any kernels for Pupp...

My experience with running these apps (qjackctl + qsynth) on distros like Puppy and Slax (low overhead and running as root) is that it works fine without and specific RT configs in the kernel. I set the RT flag in qjackctl and qsynth produces nice sounds on multiple channels on a not very high end C...

Thanks. A few follow up questions. I guess this kernel did not make its way into the official kernel for Puppy 3.0 or did I miss something in the threads? Low latency /Real Time kernel in Puppy

Does the kernel in Puppy 3.0 support low latency / real time ?

If not, do anyone have instructions (or ideas) on how to get Puppy 3.0 to run with a real time / low latency kernel?
