Wine COM port
I am trying to get a COM port working under Wine. My puppy version is: Frugal Precise 5.6.1 My wine version is: 1.4 I have successfully used a USB to RS-232 adapter in puppy on this machine, it is configured as /dev/ttyUSB0. I have tested this using CuteCom and it works well. I'd like a Windows prog...

Ok, writing that last message reminded me that I had a saved .2fs file. A check on the date and it was 6th November. Unusually good of me to have such a recent backup! So I did this: (in case anyone else is following this with the same problem) 1. Renamed the .2fs backup file and copied it to my /mn...

Changed Language, Lost Desktop Customisation
Today I realised that my dates were showing the "wrong" way around. I checked the Wizard Wizard, and sure enough there is a Country Wizard. I found that it was on US, where I wanted it to be on Australia. So I changed it to Australia, and while I was there I ticked the "Num Lock"...

Problems using the editor in MPLABX
Ok, now for my problem. The MPLABX IDE has a very nice editor to help you write your c code. There is a problem though, which I will try to explain: The editor works fine if I use the keyboard and don't use the mouse. If I do use the mouse, it also works fine, but then won't let me use the keyboard....

This thread is fairly old, but I thought I'd document my experience in case anyone is searching... I am using a frugal installation of Precise Puppy 5.6.1. I found that MPLABX IDE versions 1.85 and 1.90 both worked quite well in Puppy, with a bug or two. These are the steps I went through: 1. Instal...

Sound works in one sfs, not in another
bump.
Can anyone help me with my problem (as described in the first post) please?
I can obviously start from scratch, but that means re-downloading, installing and configuring quite a few applications.

Sound works in one savefile, not in another
Hello, I'm being frustrated by a lack of sound. I'm using Precise Puppy 5.6.1 with a frugal installation. Sound works perfectly using one savefile, but there is no sound with another. I assume that there is a difference between the configurations of each "installation". I have worked throu...
