So no help, huh. From the Menu -> System menu, run Gparted. Delete the current partitions and make a new one formatted as fat32. You didn't get the point I get two DIFFERENT devices /dev/sdb AND /dev/sdc the first device is just a megabite and the other is the rest. Run bootflash again (hdd). Just u...

Strange flash thumbb drive setup
Hello, Some time ago I had a problem with my laptop booting from flash and I used various methods for overcoming this problem for booting into Puppy. One of them was the build-in puppy-to-flash installer. I've tried all of the options there. It didn't help though. The problem is that when I run the ...

And if you don't mind I'll continue with the questions which popped up in my mind after reading the thread in the 4th answer about How does Puppy work... And so I've been searching for Pupbuntu since I found about Puppy and after I understood that it could hardly reach the functionality of my fav - ...

Well this is such complicated bash script... I use really really simple one
it is that simple as long as the device stays with the same name at /dev. If it doesn't I don't use automount but rather mount manually.
Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash
mount /dev/device /mnt/folder

How to mount top layer
Well, in the times when I used SD card to store my lupusave file I faced a exlemely nice feature - top layer mounting. Unlike lupusaves in USB thumb drives Puppy doesn't go saving the changes made in RAM every few minutes but it rather saves them directly to the lupusave (without ever needing to sto...

As I am a noob I do the following: I'm writing a simple bash script of mount /dev/what-ever-device /mnt/what-ever-folder, chmod it to be runnable and place it in ~/Startup folder... It works always for me :) I'm not saying anything else mentioned here doesn't work. I'm just using it this way and it ...

First of all I know that this beeping happens when you try to backspace over the text field but this is not the case. This beeping sounds every few seconds at uneven interval. There have been situations when it paused for a minute or two and then beeping again. Weird indeed. And here's the tar (that...

I generated hardware report if that would help. (I used the HardInfo app inside Puppy)
The file is Here since I am not allowed to upload .html-s on the forum.

Motherboard speaker making strange sounds
Hello, guys I did full install of Puppy on my moderately new computer (about 4 years) because Puppy did great. Even for 2GiGs of RAM and some other fancy stuff my Comp was getting slow more and more every day even with Ubuntu. So I made the install and the computer begun dropping some sounds at unev...

Keyboard Layout
Hello all, I'm having this frustrating problem here. It's all about a single Layout option that seemed to exist on older Puppy versions and to be completely missing on this one (5.10). So I'll ask briefly - Is there any way for me to be using my favorite Bulgarian BDS keyboard layout? Thanks in adva...
