Alright. This has been my project for tonight. With my upgrade to Precise Puppy (which was originally solely so I could have a somewhat new version of Skype  ), I found I was unable to run Xfce. Half of my programs were missing when I ran it. Openbox doesn't blink tray icons, and JWM is ugly. ...

I was using a Skype 4.0 .pet and began experiencing issues with it crashing upon bootup. I don't know what was causing it, although a downgrade to an old Skype 2.1 beta .pet works (I'm running the same version of LuPu you are). Sadly the most recent version seems to be this ? As the most recent Skyp...

I found a .pet of the p54usb driver. Theoretically could I just install it? try this manual method: converting .pet package with pet2tgz in lucid, run this in alphaos tar xvf pet-name.tar.gz -C / but with this method, you cant do uninstall the pet. I hope this helps. Uninstalling isn't a big matter...

Hi, I absolutely LOVE this Pup. I've been looking for something like this for quite some time...however, it refuses to recognize my wireless card (p54usb) that Puppy has recognized for quite some time. Are there any extra packages I've missed with wireless drivers? DM wireless drivers package in al...

Hello again CatDude. Remember me? I forgot this topic until I was browsing the forums and saw someone found it. I am right now, although on Windows, running a Puppy LiveCD with 5.2.5., JWM and a tad bit of fat (aMSN and Skype). It completely revived this thing (although it is slow as mud, it works)....

Emil, I do not have the extra apps for the link Jim posted, but I have the basic Trinity, the libs and the installer on my other computer. I will upload them when I'm the only one on the network, as my internet slows down to half the speed of smell when I upload anything over one meg; but if you wan...

Hello hypersonic. If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to give you a couple tips to save you space. I have a 1.8g savefile and generally run about 400-500 mb free (I like my fat  Three web browsers, python, two messaging clients, GIMP with docs...) - If using instant messengers, turn the logging off...

I don't use Chrome/Chromium strictly based on the principle that anything you upload on it is Google's property. I'm curious to run it in Terminal and see what happens though.
I don't suppose running Opera is much better though, right? lol I remember forever ago it was in the nonfree repos on Ubuntu.

I have found that I'm unable to mount a 4.7gb DVD-R containing photos in Puppy 5.25 and 5.20. When the disc is inserted, the desktop drive icon is present and identified as 'sr0' but when I click on it cant mount it. I am not sure and this is a long shot, but on my newest machine I could not boot a ...
