If the card is a 3Com 3c556B, then I can probably help you. I had this card in my ThinkPad T20 and needed to add 'acpi=off' to the boot parameters for it to work.

Boot Puppy like this:

Code: Select all

boot: puppy acpi=off

hi

with my ibm 10/100 etherjet cardbus i found the xircom_tulip_cb driver worked. in puppy 2 its in lib/modules/2.6.16.7/net/tulip, but you might have to search for it in puppy 1.
hope this helps

hi

in the ethernet wizard 2nd line down is "SPECIFY CUSTOM DRIVER" where you can add xircom_tulip_cb then continue as normal
