So somehow I ended up with the ISO for 6.0 instead of the latest 6.0.2. I've just gotten everything set up nicely so I'd rather not start over with 6.0.2. Is there a way to just upgrade my current "installation" (on a USB stick) without starting from scratch?

Although I guess now that I know what I'm doing my customizations probably wouldn't be too much trouble to re-do...

Thanks all.

Click on Quickpet icon on desktop.
Quickpet->Info->Tahrpup bug fixes

After all the bug fixes are installed, good idea to reboot so they all get saved.

Now start the Puppy Package Manager(PPM)
Should be offered the 6.0.2 service pack
Install that.
Reboot.

Should now be totally updated to the date you did this.

One slight problem you may see. Any place you see the version info. It will say Tahrpup 6.0.1. This is a bug, but you do actually have everything that is in Tahrpup 6.0.2

PPM wasn't popping anything up but when I opened Quickpet and then clicked on Tahr Updates today it popped up saying there was a service pack from 6.0.2 (which I was apparently already running, which was a surprise to me) to 6.0.3.

Whenever I check my Puppy version using these instructions:
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/PuppyVersionInformation

Quote:
cat /etc/DISTRO_SPECS

I get:
Quote:
#One or more words that identify this distribution:
DISTRO_NAME='tahrpup'
#version number of this distribution:
DISTRO_VERSION=6.0
#The distro whose binary packages were used to build this distribution:
DISTRO_BINARY_COMPAT='ubuntu'
#Prefix for some filenames: exs: tahrsave.2fs, tahr-6.0.sfs
DISTRO_FILE_PREFIX='tahr'
#The version of the distro whose binary packages were used to build this distro:
DISTRO_COMPAT_VERSION='trusty'
#the kernel pet package used:
DISTRO_KERNEL_PET='Huge_Kernel'
DISTRO_XORG_AUTO='yes'
DISTRO_TARGETARCH='x86'
DISTRO_DB_SUBNAME='tahr'
#32-byte alpha-numeric ID-string appended to vmlinuz, puppy_tahr_6.0.sfs, zdrv_tahr_6.0.sfs and devx.sfs:
DISTRO_IDSTRING='t141024171501ZZZZ6.0XXXXXXXXXXXX'
#Puppy default filenames...
#Note, the 'SFS' files below are what the 'init' script in initrd.gz searches for,
#for the partition, path and actual files loaded, see PUPSFS and ZDRV in /etc/rc.d/PUPSTATE
DISTRO_PUPPYSFS='puppy_tahr_6.0.sfs'
DISTRO_ZDRVSFS='zdrv_tahr_6.0.sfs'
DISTRO_ADRVSFS='adrv_tahr_6.0.sfs'
DISTRO_YDRVSFS='ydrv_tahr_6.0.sfs'
DISTRO_PUPPYDATE='Oct 2014'
#multiarch distros, such as Ubuntu, will have this. ex: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu, so DISTRO_ARCHDIR=i386-linux-gnu
DISTRO_ARCHDIR='i386-linux-gnu'

Which is confusing.

i know it's a bit confusing ,this is due to the /etc/DISTRO_SPECS file reverting to its original version after rebooting.

i'll perhaps put the version number in quickpet in a future update
