I used to see changes to the OS and look at them with interest. But it seems to me that very little is changing at all? Now don't get me wrong Ubuntu is a very useful desktop OS so there are few NEEDED improvements, but shouldn't it have some sort of change to keep people interested?
Just kind of a rant / minor complaint. Ubuntu is my main home desktop OS (but I guessed it'd be relevant to many others since it forms the base of many Puppies) and I'm frustrated that some of its derivatives (Kubuntu, Lubuntu) seem to be lapping it.
What's up with Ubuntu 15.04?
1. Changes galore, but most of them under the hood.
2. Systemd replaces Upstart.
3. The Linux kernel has been upgraded to 3.19.3.
4. Unity and Compiz get minor upgrades.
5. Locally Integrated Menus are now default.
6. A new wallpaper has been implemented.
7. All the major apps have been upgraded.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
