How to use Samsung SCX3200 printer?

#1 Post by Ratacea »

I'm using Puppy Linux (Tahrpup 6.0 CE) and I'm beginner. I have install it on USB flash drive and I can run puppy l. and surf in internet, but i can't use my printer SCX 3200. I tried find some advice in internet and forums but I gave up.

I have download drivers for linux from samsung support site
I got pet package after unpack gz file
I have install it with double click...
I run cup an i select scx 3200 an I can manage printers but when I try to print standard page anythings go ahead.

How can I (simply) resolve problem?

Thanks

You don't mention which puppy you are using, but the PDF viewer that comes with it, epdfview, is usually located here:

/usr/bin/epdfview

If you don't see it, simply search for epdfview.

evince is the pdf viewer in Tahrpup

It is located in /usr/bin

If you are using the Pale Moon browser.

Pale Moon Edit-> preferences->Applications->PDF file default setting is "always ask". That is why you got asked what PDF viewer to use.

With this setting, each time you try to look at a PDF with Pale Moon, you have to tell it to use /usr/bin/evince.

Simple solution.
Go to Pale Moon Edit-> preferences->Applications->PDF file
Change this setting to "use evince".
Now Pale Moon will automatically use evince to view any PDF.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

I'm using Puppy Linux (Tahrpup 6.0 CE)
Tahrpup has been updated and bug fixed to version 6.0.2

Click on the desktop icon Quickpet.
Go to info->Tahrpup bug fixes (updates)

This will bring you up to the latest bug fixes and updates, as of the time you do this.
