Subject description: YASSM runs out of Personal Storage Space

When using YASSM v2.6 to mount NAS, rsync backup to NAS fails because “personal storage space” is all used up.

I do NOT have this problem when NAS is mounted using Pnethood 0.7.i18n.

Using Frugal install of Precise Puppy v5.6

Anybody know how to set YASSM to NOT use “personal storage space”.

YASSM does not use any personal storage space - it simply creates a mount point to the NAS.

Can you move files one-by-one into the NAS?

[Edit] YASSM puts its mount points in /root/YASSM instead of /mnt. This is so YASSM will work in multi-user systems like Fatdog where an unprivileged user can control his/her own mount points.

So if you are using rsync to backup /root to the NAS, I can see how there would be a problem.

Is there a way for rsync to omit /root/YASSM?

Using rsync I'm backing up a large directory, that has many sub directories.

That large directory is located below /mnt/home/ (which in my case is sda2).

I can mount NAS location using either Pnethhood or YASSM.

But if YASSM is used, personal storage space is used up and rsync fails.

Can YASSM be modified to put its mount point on sda2 or anyplace other then root, which is all part of personal storage space?

I'm confused. Is this a frugal install?

The directory /mnt/home should be OUTSIDE of your personal storage space, which contains /root. Or does your backup directory contain a link back into /root?
