Wireless in Slacko 5.7. SOLVED.

#1 Post by alphadog »

Trying to connect Slacko 5.7 wirelessly using IntelPro wireless 3945ABG card inbuilt into this Toshiba Equium A110-252 I have been given.
I am running "live" off a usb stick.
I have followed the instructions here http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=93011.
However when I get to this ;
As per my earlier post, you should find the firmware file in its original location:
/lib/modules/all-firmware/iwlwifi/lib/firmware
check that the filesize is 147k, then copy it over to
/lib/firmware
which will overwrite the undersized (corrupt) version already there.
I get a box showing that I "cannot copy an item" to itself or some such wording.
Any ideas anyone ?

In the target folder /lib/firmware, the file may already exist as a link (the icon has a little arrow on it).

Delete it, then drag the new file from the source folder /lib/modules/all-firmware/iwlwifi/lib/firmware
