Would you have something to go the other way. pet to taz ? looking into Slitaz since puppylinux seems to have left its roots as a small distro.

Its possible however it tooks longer to develop. Because in order to build a slitaz package out of PET. The process of untaz script must perform backwards. If you have an experience in shell script. You can possibly write it .

Thanks mistfire, my final years as manager type has weakened my shell skills and you saw thro my attempt to make it seem easy so you would want to try it.
I just began playing with Slitaz again after thinking that project distro was dead. But someone here wrote a shell script that reminded me of the way Siltaz does its booting. So I pointed that to the puppylinux script writer ( open source harvest code )
Which made me see if they where still alive. Tbey are and releasing daily a rolling release which is not tracked on Distrowatch.com

I have tried to use this in Precise 5.7.1 to convert a mhwaveedit-1.4.23.tazpkg from SliTaz repo into a .pet package.
The mhwaveedit-1.4.23.pet package appears, but when I'm trying to extract it (after cancelling petget to install the package) it extracts just the following files/dirs:
var (dir)
fs.cpio (file)
mhwaveedit-1.4.23.pet.specs (file)
This is not usable so far...
What am I doing wrong?

No, but I gave my old drum kit away for free to a music store collecting instruments for refugees!

@Lazy Puppy. I think not all SliTaz Packages uses LZMA compression. Editing the UNTAZ script to extact fs.cpio aside from fs.cpio.lzma might help. I try to revised the script.

I have made some work on this and created a right-click tool to extract SliTaz Packages.
Will post this in Forum Utilities.
Created a nice SliTaz Package Icon also.
