2015 POLL: How Old Are You?

#1 Post by battleshooter »

Just wondering where the mode lies today in 2015. Back in 2009 most Puppy users were 50ish. I suppose now 6 years on most are 60ish?

The poll was compared to Ubunutu's poll where most users were 21-30.

Ok, now I can see the your point of view on copyright violence etc. pp.!

I'm 51 and am convinced, your point of view will have changed heavily when you are entering the 50's.

That is what I just said. I can only assume that "for the win" must mean something else where you come from. Here "for the win" just means that it is the best thing ever, I can only assume that you thought "for the win" meant it was for only the evil rich people.

I did edit my post to clarify what I meant.

EDIT: On topic again:

Most of the people who voted so far, are over 40 years old.

I come from somewhere else....

To me it means that you would LIKE it to be the best, but the matter is still in doubt.

typical linux user

#12 Post by mekalu2k4 »

Hi guys,

I am 45. this forum is really fun. All developers and contributors can get annoyed of me. Why?

I am a typical user.

1. About me: Do not know much about linux, suddenly decided to switch to linux from windows; no regrets. Started using puppy linux and now experimenting with different ISO on a USB and on a spare machine.

2. In my county I am now considered as 'linux guru' and all buddies bringing their age-old lappys to load up puppy or compizpup [these two are my favorites]. We will do that over couple of coffees/ beers depending on time of the day!

3. Anything goes wrong, I refer to forum and anxiously wait for instructions! When things go wrong, my friends get annoyed and irritated. A couple of them told - 'you don't know about linux and trying to fix things, that too reading from some forums??' There were couple of situations, [refer to my posts earlier], I managed to wipe out personal photo albums, precious data on two machines of my friends. Then windows 8.1 was 'accidentally wiped out' from one lappy; then only we realized that owner did not make the restore CD prior to that! not my fault Grrrr :P

4. Each time I do something stupid on someone's laptop; contributors of forum are put to harassment :)

So, please bear with users like me. We are spreading linux in our neighborhoods......

The last time I went to see my doctor he greeted me with:

"I thought you were dead" I wasn't sure he was joking, but I replied:

"You'll have to try harder than that!"

To which he replied

"Shall we start again?"

And I said

"You've had your chance! " and couldn't keep a straight face any longer.

I'm 64 and have died twice already........
Even my cats are getting jealous.

Whoops, that's embarrassing

That was actually directed at Burn_IT. I guess you two have some things in common ;) (and I need more sleep...)

Apologies for the confusion, all round!

I was going to hit the 90+ for kicks but I didn't want to skew the figures. This was actually a pretty relevant question. - Thanks.
