My wifi USB adapter behaves in a strange way. The connection is steady and I can browse with PaleMoon and download files. However, while a file is being downloaded, PaleMoon stops loading new tabs (spinning the page load icon). This happens both when it's PaleMoon itself that downloads the file, and when a separate shell wgets the file. Can anyone suggest what might be wrong? TIA
Versions: wifi USB adapter TP-LINK TL-WN725N version 2 on TahrPup CE 6
PaleMoon 25.0.1
while downloading file, PaleMoon can't browse

I own one of these adapters and cannot duplicate your problem.
First, I tested it in Tahrpup. I used PWF as the connection manager and PaleMoon as the browser. I downloaded a Puppy ISO file from nluug.nl. It was slow but worked.
I then repeated the test in Slacko56-4G (I have the 8188eu driver). It also worked.

Thanks for your report. I'm using Frisbee, I will try PWF, though the issue isn't connecting but browsing: while a download is active Palemoon stops loading new tabs.rcrsn51 wrote:I own one of these adapters and cannot duplicate your problem.

I have updated the thread title to better reflect what the issue is

I looked at this again and the problem seems to be specific to your TP-LINK TL-WN725N micro adapter. In Tahrpup, I could eventually open a new tab while the download was in progress, but it was painfully slow.
I checked in Slacko/Firefox and it was just as bad.
I then tested several other adapters, including another 8188eu, and they were MUCH faster at opening and browsing through another tab. But none were as fast as connecting through Ethernet.

OK, thanks. I have a boxed-up, spare 8188eu version 2 that I could try. Is the better 8188eu you tested version 1 or 2?
