Hi...

I am looking for 32 bits alternative to FatDog 64 700, that is one of the VERY FEW distros out there that has the latest Scribus 1.4.4. Even big distro like Mint has older versions.

I need the 32 bits as I want to build a little project around Scribus 1.4.4 and Puppy, but also need a 32 bits alternative. If it PAE and non PAE, its even better:-)

Atle

Thirty-two meaning you're on which pup? Any special reason it's gotta be won-fo-fo?

Hi Semme

Its just that in my project i need to offer both a 64 bit and 32 bit alternative to cover all hardware. I do love FatDog, and are deeply impressed with them bringing the latest Scribus to their users, while other have older versions, such as even Ubuntu.

The project aims at bringing some templates so that people are enabled to make newspapers in plain old paper.

So FatDog is ready to go, but i still do miss the 32 bits alternative:-)

Here is a thread showing it might be possible for Tahr?

Were you able to follow from where I found these?

Trusty >> https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhandbook1/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+build/6067702

Precise >> https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhandbook1/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+build/6067789

Whether they'll require additional deps I'll leave for you tell me.

Thanks Semme... It wanted some deps, but they were in the packet manager, easy to find and easy to install.

Worked perfect.

Thanks again...

Now Puppy has both 32 and 64 bits options for running the latest Scribus:-)

EDIT
That said... it might be that it needs GTK or something else, as it looks fairly cheap in Tahr compared to in Linux mint. Icons etc does not look good, but I shall check that out later:-)

Off course... A gig here and a gig there makes differnce.

But usually programs, if they work in Puppy, looks the same in Puppy as in other distroes.

But i need to figure out more on that issue.

But it does start, does not cry for more stuff, but still lacks the look of a modern program as it looks in Mint.

I shall look into it...

EDIT: Did another check and see that its all fine. Just PERFECT Smile

Hello...

I got 1.4.4 to work perfectly. The aim is to have both a 64 and 32 bits puppy running 1.4.4.

Not 1.4.0

But it works perfectly now and that is great...

I update with a "RESOLVED" in the header...
