it's interesting that quite a few groups are currently considering replacing some of what we consider 'base package sets'.

The latest change seems to be replacing gcc with qcc as it will generate dynamically linked ELF files for the 64bits architecture x86_64 as well as 32bit. http://c9x.me/qcc/ will give you an overview.

we all know of libc > musl underway and a fork or two around, I wonder what else is out there.
