Python for GIMP [SOLVED]

Hello,

I just installed gimp 2.8.1 from the puppy-precise-official repository. In the Windows version of gimp 2.8, Python was included. In Puppy it is not. How can I add Python to GIMP, in a way (if possible) so I can also use "standalone" python?

Thank you
Hans

I was confused about python as well, but I found that python was needed for
opening ORA format files from Mypaint. It's not needed for the G'mic plugins

If you are using Precise or Raring or Slacko puppies I would suggest this link.
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=90605

I would use the pet package there , not the SFS package , because there
is a small flaw in the SFS package. (Ubuntu packages are hard to package as SFS packages. )

thank you don570, but I already have gimp running, and everything seems to work that far. I want to write my own scripts, and I have some experience with python but not with scheme. So I want to have python in gimp.

...but I found it: uninstall the repository gimp, install the gimp and python pets from the thread you linked, and now it works. thank you!
