Update Heekscad to 1.1.0
The more i dig in its gcode/path generation functions , the more I like it.
Note: I am only an "online"-self-educated machinist ..

Freecad with the path module,arch,assembly2++ Subject description: CAD&CAM |

Freecad team merge the CAM module in their master branch .
Available for testing with basic functions . Generating gcode from one package is a plus.
Keep in mind ,no stable release here ,back it up often .
See first post(edited many times..and more to come...as I try to keep it as a "main" details/ news/personal memo resources)

Hi revolverve,
Does free cad do 3d object assembly animation?
I have used a software years ago named Ideas on windows.
It could do assembly animations and also working animations to check for defects.
Ideas was bought by Solidedge and discontinued.
Now for years I have not worked in designing field.
Just want to do some off time work.
Thanks.

Hi drunkjedi
I did saw 3d mechanical animation from freecad.
I only design 3d parts for cnc machining ,hope for improvement of the cam module and in no need yet to assemble complex parts. I only scratch the surface of freecad full potential ...
your best bet would be FreeCad forums\tutorials.
Note :
- every modules found on ubuntu daily dev+assembly is included here...much more than I need!
-mid-off-topic,installation of freecad stable+dependencies should be possible from package management, for those who dont see the benefits of using sfs and/or dev version.

No worries friend.
I have downloaded the sfs.
I will see what can I do, when I get home from work.
I prefer sfs than pets or debs.
Thanks.

Uploaded freecad-daily 0.17 alpha1....see first post
Latest Hamish assembly2 included but possibly you will need to extract from sfs and create/copy it to root/ .Freecad/Mod if needed.
Look like Freecad-dev is now Freecad-daily .

I'am so happy that finally I got some Freecad to work.
tried out several things, without luck, untill I found this thread.
But now that I have Freecad running, I have to learn to use it.
And uhm I got stuck at lesson number 4 allready.
Reading from the above post I learnt that I should use version number 16 instead of 17.
However, The download links for the 32 bits version 16 and dev's have been removed somehow.
I really hope that they have not been thrown into the bin.
Is there a possebillity to post some link to a 32 bit version 16 sfs?
Thanks in advance. Rik.
