Which is the best Puppy with xfce?

#1 Post by jsalpha2 »

I am looking for a puppy with the xfce desktop. Can't figure out if Precise, Slacko, or Wary would be best. I'm somewhat familiar with Linux, but have never tried a Puppy before. Just want to learn my way around, so hard disk install or USB either one is fine. Thanks

Can not find much about xfce on the forum. Is Carolina still being kept up?
Is there a 64 bit Xfce version?

Tried Slacko , Valiant and Simplicity. No luck yet.

I've just done a frugal install of Carolina v1.2, while testing Qupzilla. Don't know if there is a 64bit version, but i suspect there is.
EDIT Just had a look in their official repository and it seems there is only one version, which worked on my 32bit system.
LxXenial16.08, LxPupSc17.07.01,Lucid 5.2.8 and others - all frugal

Try X-Slacko. The 2.1 release just came out. I'll warn you I haven't tried it yet (it's on my to-do list)...

Thanks starhawk, I will try the X-Slacko.
Thanks wimpy, I don't really need 64 bit, will try Carolina too!
