Fatdog64 Contributed Packages and SFS

#1 Post by fatdog »

I created this thread so that current and future pets/sfs contributors as well as users can easily search for contributed packages. Anyone who want to contribute pets/packages can upload it somewhere, and post the announcement with the link here.

As there are a couple of Fatdog64 versions already released, please note for which version your pet/packages/sfs are for.

Note: some contributed packages are hosted directly on ibiblio - but it would be great if you post the announcement / link here too.

Some contributors with major applications have their own "thread" - it would good to post a link here to the main thread.

Fatdog-720 starts here.

I will start with some example packages that I'm aware of, with no particular order of preference.

Celestia SFS by WillM
Made for 631, works with 700 too.

Stellarium SFS by WillM
Made for 631, works with 700 if you delete the /opt/qt4 packages within the SFS and then use qt4-4.8.5.sfs.

wxMaxima SFS by Wognath
Made for 700, works with 631 too.

PeasyWifi by rcrsn51
Made for 631 and many other variants of Puppy too.

Gadmin-openvpn by eowens2
Made for 631.

Hello everyone,

Anyone wants to make their own sfs of Opera devloper v25 browser .
download .deb file fromHere.
Then follow instructions from Here.
Thanks to @Wognath now I have made my first working sfs file.

Edit: Also had to install libnss which also installed libnspr as a dependancy.

My work network blocks many cloud storages like google drive etc.
My home networks data pack has ended. So I will try to upload it asap.
And post it here.

Edit: Here you go.
Download it.

This is a sfs for stellarium-0.12.4
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing
md5sum:

Code: Select all

1850bbe08877f21297d097ac0401c3f1 stellarium-0.12.4-x86_64_700.sfs
Wognath has discovered it is not neccessary to use the entire qt4-4.8.5.sfs. I have added just the required libraries and reloaded Stellarium to Google Drive.
Thank you Wognath.

My contributions to Fatdog64 8xx/72x/710/70x/631

#13 Post by step »

Packages and SFS files for Fatdog64

This post is divided in multiple sections, one for every Fatdog64 major release (63x, 70x, 71x, 72x, 800), in reverse chronological order.

Most packages built for Fatdog64-800 should not work for earlier Fatdog64 series.

Many packages built for Fatdog64-70x should work for Fatdog64-710, but not viceversa. Likewise for 710 with respect to 720.

Abbreviations: devx = Fatdog64 fd64-devx SFS, repo = Fatdog64 official packages, contrib = Fatdog64 contributed packages and SFS. Run gslapt to download/install TXZ packages from the repo. Run sfsmanager to download/install SFS files from the repo.

Package Manager
When you read "Install from package manager", it means install from the Gslapt source that corresponds to the major release. So, if you are running Fatdog64-71x and want a package from the 70x section, add the 700 series repo source to Gslapt otherwise it won't find the package. Likewise for the SFS manager configuration.

Perl Versions
While generally speaking Fatdog64-700 packages work on Fatdog64-710, there can be issues getting perl-dependent packages to work. Fatdog-710 comes with perl version 5.20.0 but older packages may be tied to perl 5.18.2. Issues may arise when a package can't find some perl module (@INC path) or when a package can't find the perl library (libperl.so).
To fix the @INC path you need to tell perl where to look for older perl modules. Set and export PERL5LIB=/usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.18.2 before running the troubled package. A good place to set initialization variables once and for all is ~/.fatdog/profile for root or /etc/profile for the system - but beware that system updates could overwrite the latter. One examplary package that needs @INC fixed to work in Fatdog-710 is my exiftool 9.76 package. Further reading: perl @INC path.

Packages that _embed_ the perl interpreter, like my vim-7.4.691-x86_64 and Rxvt packages, are tied to the perl library libperl.so that they were compiled against. So for those packages you need to install the matching Fatdog64-70x perl package (5.18.2), or load an equivalent perl sfs before you load the 710 devx sfs (if you do). For instance, the following are some ways to get vim with perl support installed correctly -- install/load a single line only, all elements in the order they are displayed:

perl-5.18.2-x86_64-1.txz vim-7.4.691-x86_64.txz BUT NO 710_devx.sfs!
perl-5.18.2-x86_64-1.sfs vim-7.4.691-x86_64.sfs BUT NO 710_devx.sfs!
perl-5.18.2-x86_64-1.txz 710_devx.sfs vim-7.4.691-x86_64.sfs
perl-5.18.2-x86_64-1.sfs 710_devx.sfs vim-7.4.691-x86_64.sfs

Packages for Fatdog64-700b1 and/or Fatdog64-631
Some of these may still apply to FD-700 final.

yacas computer algebra for FD700

#15 Post by Wognath »

Yacas ("yet another computer algebra system") is a command-line math program, capable of symbolic manipulation of algebraic expressions and arbitrary-precision calculations. Plots require gnuplot (Fatdog repo).
To start, type yacas in a terminal. Repeatedly entering Example() cycles through a few examples. Extensive documentation is found at http://yacas.sourceforge.net/homepage.html

Ugh, the file is too big to upload to this forum, but I think this will work:

Some packages (for FD64-700) I compiled so far...

sg3_utils-1.40
The sg3_utils package contains utilities that send SCSI commands to devices.

yad-0.25.1
Yet Another Dialog.

gtrayicon-1.1
Generic tray icon for Gnome.

wxHexEditor-0.23beta
The best hex editor for Linux. 8)
Linked statically against wxGTK.

vice-2.4
Versatile Commodore Emulator.
Compiled against gtkglext (linked statically), so fullscreen works properly.
NOTICE: Requires libvte (available in Gslapt or fd64-devx_700b2.sfs).

tas-1.9
My screenshot utility.
Slightly modified for FatDog.
Viewnior hardcoded to view results, because Fotoxx won't display animated GIFs.

conky-1.7.2
It's an older version, but that's the last version that's causing no problems with transparency in ROX Desktop Enviroment; no need to use some ugly hacks like feh, etc.
It's compiled without lua.
Contains examplary config (see screenshot), "stolen" from Akita (signed by Tazoc, though), but heavily modified by me.

I'm too lazy to upload individually, so all packages in single ZIP:

Opera Stable 26.0.1656.60

#19 Post by neerajkolte »

Hi Everyone,

I made SFS of Opera Stable 26.0.1656.60 for Fatdog64-700.

It places Opera Icon on desktop when loaded and removes it when unloading.

The Opera icon on desktop when clicked opens opera window,
On subsequent clicks it adds tabs.

When you right click on the Icon you get 2 options.
"Open New Window" and "Open Private Window"

Here is the link to it on my google drive.

I have shortened it with goo.gl Google url shortner as it gives me number of downloads to see it's popularity.
If you want original url just PM me.

It's 55.9 Mb with

I have also made Opera Beta 27 and Opera Developer 28 SFSes.
I will share them too when tested.

Thanks and Happy new year to you all.
