Today I wanna install MS-DOS 6,22 on my old computer with puppy lucid existjng before it.
Ive done the installation (FDISK, FORMAT, SETUP); the usual routines. But when I start booting to dos. i get a prompt:

wee 0> find --set-root /grlb (from what i nearly barely remember)
wee 15> /grlb
wee 17> _ (prompt here)

It must be something leftover from puppy (my guess). I tried finding aboutnthis on google with no luck.

How can i use this prompt and get rid of it?
what is it?

'wee' is not an operating system. It's just a bootloader, like grub, grub2 or lilo.

I personally don't think you are seeing leftovers. Wink

If you deleted all of the partitions that Puppy was installed on when you were in FDISK (and the program worked correctly,) then what you are seeing is definately not from Puppy. If it is a boot loader, typing in "fdisk /mbr" should remove it.

To be double sure, try using DBAN. It will definitely take care of anything that might be on there! Mr. Green

Regards...

Hi...

I apologize. It looks like I interpreted your choice of words incorrectly. The fact that we're all from different countries and communicating by written words on a screen and not by looking at someone's face or body language, it's easy to mistake what someone is trying to communicate. Wink

From your comment...

I thought that you were upset that you didn't get the information you wanted or that you thought we might be upset because you were choosing another operating system.

No problem, though, I'm not upset about it any way and I'm glad that we helped to fix the issue you were having. Smile

Regards...

If you install some other full-fledged OS, then the installation process should guide you through the installation of a bootloader which will overwrite the MBR which now contains wee. Otherwise, you can the program 'dd' to simply wipe it out, but using dd is non-reversible, so only do that with good help from here.
