What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

unable to read imode block

#1 Post by Saladin »

Ok, I had everything on an 75 gig NTFS hard drive in my laptop. Found out my other laptop uses the same kind of hard drive, but it has 150 gigs. I formatted it as ext3, transferred all my files over (took several days), and switched the drives because the first laptop is better in every other respect. When I boot it up, I get the message:

Code: Select all

EXT3-fs error (device sda1): ext3_get_imode_loc: unable to read imode block - imode=17629185, block=35258381
It boots up, and I can access all the puppy save files, but the other 70 gigs or so of files display red in ROX, and I can't access them until I put the drive back in the original laptop.

Is it possible to fix this without backing up everything and reformatting?
