Has anyone installed Wine on the Puppy setup? Any issues with it or does it simply work as stated? I'm considering testing the setup on an Athlon 1.5ghz, 512mb ram, Nvidia GeForce3 vid card pc that currently has WinXP on it (bleah). If Wine runs well under Puppy 2.xx, I would like to try installing World of Warcraft on the box, since there have been many people talking recently about getting WoW to play in Wine. I love the game and but would love even more to get rid of the bloat of XP. The idea of gaming with a very lightweight OS is VERY appealing to me. Very Happy

Would love anyones input, suggestions, etc, on this matter.

You might need 3D-accelleration for WoW:

I'm running wine on my Pupy 2.01. I use the file wine0915_200.sfs. Runs well

1. Download it to the same directory as your pup_save.sfs
2. Rename wine0915_200.sfs to wine0915_201.sfs if your running Puppy 2.01
3. Reboot. Done!!!

Good luck!

Just a follow on question from this:

If I'm running Puppy multisession i.e. completely from CD, where exactly would I place the wine0915_201.sfs file so it will be saved & available following the reboot?

I have some Windows programmes which are simply not available under Linux, so the prospect of running them under Puppy is very appealing. Unfortunately, my experience with Wine so far is very limited and largely unsuccessful, but at least knowing it will work in Puppy gives hope!
