PostPosted: Fri 25 Apr 2014, 22:26    Post subject:  Wine 1.7.4.1 now available for Legacy OS 2.1 LTS
Subject description: Run Firefox 29.0 and Flashplayer 13 in Legacy

Uploaded to the SourgeForge repo is Wine 1.7.4.1 which brings amazing possibilities for Legacy OS 2.1 LTS

Note: Important Update: Package updated to Wine 1.7.4.1 Legacy OS 2.1 LTS V3.tar.gz due to Application Menu error. Anyone who downloaded original version please install this package.

Please test and report.
Any one installing this package needs to unzip it to / as per usual. Fail to do so will result in a failed install you've been warned!

Once install make Bloody sure you're connected to the internet as Wine will try to install Mono and Gecko for you.

Once installed you'll be able to install the Windows versions of Firefox 28 and Thunderbird 24.4

If the install of Wine 1.7.4.1 fails install Wine 1.3.7-i486.pet first. If for some reason opera downloads it as Wine 1.3.7-i486.gz rename it back to Wine 1.3.7-i486.pet first or the install will fail.

Enjoy and report back you experiences.

Hello Everyone,
Been testing different Windows programs with mixed results. Along the way the idea of trying the Windows version of KDE4 popped up. A Linux desktop running in Wine on a Linux distro to old to run the native version.
Once the Windows installer finished I couldn't find the option to start the desktop environment. This left me with trying individual Applications. Some worked other worked poorly and some not at all. One App that works is Marble.

A number of Websites only support later versions of Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Wine brings the ability to run the current Windows version of Firefox in Legacy OS 2.1 LTS.
