Irfanview

The following may help anyone who has Puppy & wants to run Irfanview via Wine.

1. Download Irfanview exe. along with the plugins ( & Ghostscript for Windows if you wish to open & edit .pdf files.) I downloaded to /root/downloads

2. Any version of Irfanview after 4.0 needs this M$.dll file to allow Wine to install & function correctly MFC42.dll , I got it here :

3. Rox Filer : locate C:\windows\System32 & drag-n-drop or copy the .dll into it & then exit.

4. Launch Wine control panel, click Add/Remove Programs. Use the Install button, browse thru to wherever you saved the .exe files, then install. Install Irfanview, then the Plug Ins & then Ghost Script in that order..

5. Rox Filer: locate /mnt/home/root/Desktop, in this folder should be two icons. One is Irfanview Desktop the other Thumbnails. Double click the icons to confirm they launch the programs. Once satisfied they function, minimize the window.
Now you can drag ( or copy) the icon (s)to your desk top.
Apologies if I omitted anything, just wanted to get this down.
I tried many different ways to get this program to run,including the portable. This was by far the easiest way I have yet to try.
