QupZilla-1.8.5 Compiled in Precise 5.6.1

#1 Post by scabz »

QupZilla website http://www.qupzilla.com/

Image

qupzilla-1.8.5-i686.pet Download (Compiled with WEBGL which is why Gstreamer is needed and QT has to be compiled with gstreamer support also.)

Required dependences
qt-4.8.5-i686-stripped_5.6.1.sfs Download
gstreamer-0.10.36-i686-all.sfs Download (Not all gstreamer plugins are needed but more are needed then less so i included all.)
ca-certificates_20140223_all.pet Download (Not required but it stops ssl certificate errors)

If you want DEV,DOC or NLS pets they are all in my repo. Everyting needed to compile is also in my repo
Link to my repo https://www.mediafire.com/folder/cc4nim ... cise_5.6.1

If you can find a way to get the info to Qupzilla they could add Puppy to the list of supported Linux OS's

edoc i am goin to continue our conversation here.
Still don't see any provision to bind Qupzilla to an email app like Claws
Sorry i am not sure what you mean buy this statement.
qupzilla seems to use xdg-open correctly to open files after download in rox and archives in xarchive. i dont know much about how xdg-open or mime-types work so i am just guessing.

did you set you default email in puppy to point to claws mail.

/usr/local/bin/defaultemail

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh
exec claws-mail "$@"

I may have been over-thinking it due to the process required for Firefox which involves creating a mailto.sh file then calling that from Preferences -> Applications.

Following your instructions ...

I changed "defaultemail" as above.

I also changed "defaultbrowser" to "qupzilla".

I rebooted (probably not necessary in Linux).

I set up an email account in Claws then sent myself an email with an embedded URL.

I clicked on the URL in the received email & the site opened in Qupzilla.

From inside Qupzilla I went to a URL & clicked on an email link & it opened in Claws.

Excellent!

While setting up the Claws account I seem to recall some past difficulty managing multiple email accounts (when I saw "MH"). I sure hope they've fixed the old problems. I will add another account, set up some sub-folders, set up some filters, and see what happens ...

Thanks!

Update to QupZilla-1.8.6.sfs would be great,

I like QupZilla-1.8.4 which I have running Qt version 4.8.5 not 4.8.2

Do not like QupZilla-1.8.5 would like to try 1.8.6

I crashed my puppy so bad trying to add QupZilla-1.8.6 that I thought peta was going to come after me.

Hot Dog, Geoffrey, Major League Work

Your Qupzilla-1.8.6.pet works as good as .4 on the "hows my ssl" test

Is using Qt 1.8.5 and seem fast.

Many Thanks

Qt library conflict

#14 Post by Topoignaz »

Sorry if my question is trivial, but I'm new to Puppy.

I'm running Simplicity 15.10 on my netbook. I installed the 4 scabz's Qupzilla 1.8.5 files and everything works smoothly and fast so far. Except for Youtube: I can view the home or results from a search, but when I click on a video, the browser crashes and the terminal returns this error:

Fatal: Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40806) with this library (version 0x40805)
Aborted

I don't know if this is relevant, but Greasemonkey 0.5.2 shows active in Preferences window.

P.S. = Geoffrey, your link returns error 404.

Thank you, Geoffrey.

Unfortunately, the QT libraries conflict error persists, when I try to view a youtube video, with qupzilla-1.8.9-i486.pet too.

It also has issues with streaming audio. Scabz's gstreamer-0.10.36-i686-all.sfs is installed.
