Printer works great using Slacko 5.7(beta) Upup Raring 3.9.9.2 Luci-001-005 3HD and several others

Installed Brother HL2140 pet provided by rcrsn51 for this specific printer over a year ago.

Update 2/24/14

I looked at error under printer administration and found following error:

usr/bin/pdftops:error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file:no such file or directory.
set-job-printer-state-message to "Empty Print File!", current level-ERROR

I was unable to locate copy of library libssl.so.1.0.0 so,

I renamed /usr/bin/pdftops to pdftops.bak, then
I copied pdftops from /usr/bin in puppy luci-001


This probably not the correct way to fix by problem, but the printer now works.

I will mention the missing library to rerwin on his Lucid Puppy Revitalized as 5.2.8.6 thread. Might help others having similar problem.

I have the Brother HL2130. I ever followed rcrsn51's guide installing debbi-1.1.pet and the deb drivers from site. This way always worked in my puppies.

rcrsn51 provided me with pet hl2140.pet which contained the deb drivers you mention above. I have installed his pet and still cannot get printer to work.

first example above gives error trying to print test page
second example above shows status of printer i.e. printer is online
third example above show error message when I look as jobs i e stopped - empty print file

This printer works great on all current puppies I have tried in past six months. Don't know what problem is with the lupu series. luici 3hd works great - lupu (new series from rerwin) will not work

Printer now works.
