Miracast in Pupppy

#1 Post by gcmartin »

With the number of smartDevices currently in the world (including Puppyland) that people are using AND the projected trillions of these that will be in user-space soon, there may be an additional open-standard technology that we could begin to look at the benefit it brings to a Puppy distro PC.

Miracast - it allows a form of Integration for smart-devices and stationary device multimedia use. It is 2-way for the very smart devices and certainly for Windows PCs.

One tremendous advantage it offers is the ability for a Puppy PC to project its screen & audio onto a TV size screen without the use of wires (composite/HDMI). AND, similarly, a TV could have its screen onto your PC if you chose to send it that way. This is Just 2 of the advantages it offers a PC user.

Is there any technology available to provide Miracast protocols in Puppy Linux to allow it to play on the same field as Androids and Windows do today?

If so, could the development community consider incorporating Miracast, just as has been demonstrated by development for MTP into Puppy kennel space.

Any consideration could be useful not only for X86, but also for ARMs and the other desktop/tablet devices coming at us.

Ideas, thoughts, suggestions?
