Subject description: see it in your language

This nice little welcome screen should be seen in other languages
from the beginning
even before a langpack is installed

Programm files are in next post

Translations have to be updated because of some changes:
- Puppy or Slacko or Quirky.....
- 3 different messages depending on state of connection

It is planned (by 01micko) to include all available translations of this into slacko. Others might follow.

See translations (in alphabetic order) on this page:
Español
Nederlands
Türkçe

Or download
welcome1stboot_NLS that contains all available translations and will always be updated here

TRANSLATE

Using momanager (makes sense if you re-use old translations):
- Copy following Code to /usr/share/doc/nls/welcome1stboot/welcome1stboot.pot
- Start momanager
- Select welcome1stboot from combobox at bottom
- translate
- post resulting file here

Or without momanager:
post translated file here

Ooops again, it's not a good day for translating it seems. I concentrated so much on the text itself, that I missed a giant typo in the very first fat word "welcome".
(see screenshot: the letter 'L' is missing from "welkom")

Re-uploaded the corrected file. Apologies L18L... Embarassed

shorter text?

I thought there was a version of welcome1stboot that solved that part. Sad

The Spanish langpack has a shortened version because of that, I'll repost in a few minutes.

Thank you. I let the old pictures stay under the new picture above so that others can see what we were talking abot...

At the moment it is precise 5.7.1
The executable welcome1stboot is in 2nd post of this thread.
It has been compiled (from welcome1stboot.bac) in Quirky tahr 6.0.3.

Now let us hope that some other translations will follow.... Wink

Ok.. but IF FILEEXISTS("/etc/resolv.conf") might be a better test (will exist if lan connected at first boot). I don't have that one Barry refers to, must be new in quirky.

Also, can the button be greyed out at all?
