Getting online with Fatdog64 (631)

#1 Post by Wiliam Labbett »

Hi,

I'm new to Fatdog64. I've spent a long time trying to connect to the internet with it.

I recently switched from 601 to 631 because I thought I might be able to connect easily with the latest release. I have thought about quitting but I'm posting here first to see if someone can help before I give up. If someone knows how to help me please do. If you want more information about my machine or anything else please ask.

My idea is to use Fatdog64 to run mprime, the mersenne number primality tester so I need to be able to communicate with the server mersenne.org .

Thanks.

Wiliam,
Before giving up, I suggest you try typing /usr/sbin/net-wizard.sh in a terminal. It's the traditional Puppy connection wizard which to me is easier to use than Fatdog's network configuration.
