Hello and Welcome, ever wanted to chat with the community on IRC but searched for XChat everywhere with no results? Then, you've come to the right place!
In this tutorial, I'm going to tell you how to get XChat in Fatdog64.
First off, here is the complete XChat running smoothly on Fatdog64 (to give you courage):
First, I must tell you that: XChat is already included with devx SFS by default! So, you must install devx.
Now, getting it requires some skills and experience in Shell Script and the Command-line. Okay, let's go step by step:
1. Open up the command-line and type "xchat":
2. Rude root message?
Just click OK. The chances of getting attacked depends on your experience.
3. Trying XChat
You don't need to adjust your settings now, we will confront with XChat later on.
4. Trying XChat.
Just more pictures.
5. It's done!
It's done! But, typing "xchat" through terminal everytime is just impractical. So, there's more!
6. Making a script
Now, we are going to make our own script that would launch XChat. Put it anywhere that you can access. I normally put stuff like these in ~/my-applications.
7. Making a script
Now, right-click and choose file type as "Script", name it as you like.
8. Writing it now!
Open the script with your favorite text editor (NOT LibreOffice!), and type exactly as you see and Save.
9. Pinboard it, then!
Yes, pinboard it to the desktop. And, remember not to delete the original shell script file or the pinboard will break.
10. Click it!
Click it and enjoy.
